The Libyan International Medical University (LIMU) is a private university that is located at the heart of Benghazi city; the second biggest city in Libya. It was established in 2007 to teach Medicine, Pharmacy, Basic Medical Sciences, and Dentistry. The university LIMU comprises several faculties, including the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, and Faculty of Nursing Sciences. The above-mentioned faculties offer undergraduate degrees; and some postgraduate programs. In addition to the programs, Postgraduate programs include Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Master of Clinical Pharmacy, MSc Clinical Biochemistry, and Master of Healthcare Management. The efforts of all academic and administrative staff at LIMU were more recently crowned by the transition from functional to process management, and from six faculties to three ones, each embraces specialized and related disciplines. The transition became effective as from June, 2024 in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and also in the School of Information Technology and Engineering. However, the transition to the School of Health and Medical Sciences (SHMS) at LIMU is to be effective as from September, 2024.
As part of completing the organizational structure, a subsequent decision was issued appointing the Dean and Vice Dean of the School.
Furthermore, on April 21, 2024, a decision was issued defining the academic programs affiliated with the School — totaling ten programs — in addition to specifying the responsibilities and roles of the program directors.
In addition, the Simulation Center was transferred under the School’s supervision pursuant to University President’s Decision No. (13) of 2024.

Thank you for visiting the website of the School of Health and Medical Sciences (SHMS). It is an honor to hold the chair of Dean of SHMS. The deanery cabinet pushes forward to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students who are profoundly dedicated to professional integrity, inquiry, learning, teaching, and serving the community.
Our objective at the SHMS is to offer a comprehensive and pertinent education.
Our academic programs are meticulously designed to foster the development of robust foundations in each discipline while simultaneously promoting the deliberate application of knowledge in real-world scenarios. Students are driven to think open-mindedly, brainstorm, query assumptions, and cultivate the road map necessary to solve complex problems in all areas of study.
